The DIMM-PC®/COM1 is an add-on module for the DIMM-PC® series. It is equipped with the SMC 37C665 I/O-controller and adds two more serial ports to a DIMM-PC® system. The signals of the serial ports are available on the DIMM-I/O connector in TTL levels. The customer can decide to use different types of interfaces (RS232, RS485, TTY etc.) by adding his own driver circuitry on his base board.

The DIMM-PC®/COM1 is designed for a 144pin DIMM connector known from notebooks as memory socket. Note that this connector is different to the used for the DIMM-PC®/CPU itself. The pinout of DIMM-PC®/CPU and DIMM-PC®/VGA1 are well considered, so an easy and short routing on the customers design is possible (most of the time direct pin to pin).
