AdvancedMC

 

ADVANCED MEZZANINE CARDS:

In order to ensure easy adaptation to a wide range of applications, a corresponding mezzanine concept was developed in the course of AdvancedTCA standardization. The new AdvancedMC specifi cation (Advanced Mezzanine Card) defi ned by the PICMG committee adds leading-edge innovations to the PMC (PCI Mezzanine Card) model from the CompactPCI world. AdvancedMCs greatly extend the modularity and confi gurability of an AdvancedTCA implementation by offering hot-swap and front load capabilities at module level. An AdvancedMC represents the smallest “Field Replaceable Unit“ (FRU) in an AdvancedTCA shelf and, thus, increases the granularity of the system implementation below board (blade) level.
